- എറണാകുളത്തെ മുളവുകാട് സ്വദേശിനിയായ ദാക്ഷായണി വേലായുധൻ പുലയ സമുദായത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ബിരുദം നേടിയ ആദ്യ വനിതയാണ്.
- ഇന്ത്യൻ ഭരണഘടനാ നിർമ്മാണ സഭയിലെ (Constituent Assembly) ആകെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന 15 വനിതകളിൽ ഏക ദളിത് വനിത ഇദ്ദേഹമായിരുന്നു.
